This design build project constructed by partner Steve Vedral is located on a five acre horse property in the desert of North Scottsdale. Our client wanted to create an energy efficient and sustainable home that would blend into the desert and take in the distant views of Superstition Mountains and Four Peaks. The home was built from a highly energy efficient building material known as structural insulated panel system or S.I.P.S. The structure is situated on the site to take advantage of the prevailing winds for natural cooling. The curved roof and open area beneath lends it self well to the natural flow of air through the space.
The super insulated structure of R-54, a highly efficient cooling and heating system, tankless hot water heaters natural interior materials and many other features combine to create a comfortable, healthy and energy efficient home.
