One of the largest sustainable developments in the world, Loreto Bay is an 8,000 acre resort and residential development on the Sea of Cortes in Baja California Sur, Mexico.
Raintree designed both the interiors and architecture of over 40 custom homes in this community. The courtyard style homes range from 2,500 to 7,000 square feet offering views of the Sierra de la Giganta Mountain range or the Sea of Cortes.
The team integrated sustainable practices in both the design and materials for the construction of these homes. Solar provides at least 80% of all heated water. The construction system is a "perform wall" of blocks of recycled foam beads and cement and the homes are energy efficient, healthy spaces to live in using finishes and adhesives that are low in volatile organic compounds.
